About
I am Luigi Vigliotti, a former New York State Prosecutor and a seasoned criminal trial lawyer. My practice is primarily focused on criminal law, with a particular emphasis on DWI/DUI defense and general vehicular criminal defense. I previously served as a traffic prosecutor at 801 Axinn Ave (formerly 16 Cooper Street, Hempstead), where I managed both simple and complex traffic matters from arraignment to trial. Before you hire any lawyer, please ensure they have the necessary experience to handle your case. During my tenure in the District Attorney’s Office, I was assigned to the prestigious DWI/DUI unit. There, I successfully prosecuted thousands of vehicular cases, including those involving DWI/DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, breath test refusals, and driving under the influence of drugs or a combination of alcohol and drugs. My responsibilities also extended to prosecuting a variety of misdemeanor and felony cases, trying several misdemeanor and felony jury trials to verdict, conducting numerous pretrial suppression hearings, presenting felony cases to the Grand Jury for indictment, and handling a wide array of criminal cases from arraignment to trial. In 2008, I started my own law practice, focusing primarily on the defense of all criminal matters and personal injury litigation. I have also been active in teaching trial advocacy to law students and have been invited multiple times to teach at Hofstra Law School’s Trial Advocacy program courses.
