Dave Simmons

I’m Dave L. Simmons, and I practice law at the Law Offices of Dave L. Simmons, P.A. in Broward County. I’ve dedicated nearly 28 years to the criminal justice field. My academic journey began at Florida State University, where I graduated cum laude with a degree in Communications, and continued at Nova Southeastern Shepard Broad Law School, where I earned my Juris Doctor. After law school, I began my career as an Assistant State Attorney with the Broward County State Attorney’s Office. Later, I served as an Assistant Public Defender at the Broward County Public Defender’s Office. These roles gave me the opportunity to handle a wide range of misdemeanor and felony cases from both the prosecution and defense perspectives. This dual experience provided me with a deeper understanding of the judicial system and helped me develop strategies to effectively represent my clients. When I transitioned into private practice, I focused on defending individuals accused of criminal offenses. Over the past 24 years, I’ve represented thousands of clients facing charges that range from misdemeanors to serious felonies. My goal is to build strong defenses and work toward achieving the best possible outcomes for my clients. I’m proud to be a member of the Broward Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and to remain in good standing with The Florida Bar and the Supreme Court of Florida. I hold a “Superb” rating on Avvo and have earned the Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Rating, a prestigious peer-review recognition that reflects high ethical standards and legal ability. My experience on both sides of the courtroom allows me to advocate effectively for those I represent.
