Robbin Trowbridge Benko

I have called Chesterton home for 40 years and am a proud mother of three boys. In 2001, my oldest son was tragically murdered. I feel a deep connection to my community and dedicate much of my time to giving back. I volunteer with the Porter County Veterans Court and the American Legion, where I previously served as the Auxiliary President. For the past ten years, I’ve also volunteered at my local nursing home and have created scholarship programs for high school seniors. When I have free time, I enjoy pitching horseshoes – I truly see myself as a hometown girl. My drive to address injustices has led me to write and lobby for new laws, many of which have been successfully passed. In my Family Law practice, I focus on providing care, compassion, and attentive listening. I believe you are the one who knows your story best, and I take the time to hear you out and guide you through both legal and non-legal options. When working with opposing lawyers, I adjust my approach as needed, whether that means being cooperative or assertive. I don’t play games. I’ve faced my own challenges, including surviving an abusive relationship without legal support and raising my boys on my own. I’ve experienced many of life’s hardships, including the devastating loss of my son. As a parent and grandparent to my 8-year-old grandson, Oliver, I understand the daily struggles of managing finances, caring for children, and handling life’s many demands. I offer free consultations, which can be done over the phone or in person. I’m also available on weekends and outside of “normal” hours because I don’t believe you should have to miss work to meet with a lawyer. I’m not your typical lawyer – I truly care about what’s happening in your life.
