Michael P. Kade

I am an attorney licensed to practice before all Federal and State Courts in California, Texas Federal District Court, and the United States Supreme Court. I serve as an adjunct professor of law at the University of West Los Angeles, where I teach Criminal Law & Practice, Introduction to Legal Studies, and Contracts. My background as a criminal defense attorney includes handling numerous high-profile cases and successfully defending individuals wrongly accused of crimes ranging from minor offenses like shoplifting to major charges such as attempted murder and homicide. Before pursuing law, I served as an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department. My experience as a former LAPD (R) officer provides me with a unique and detailed perspective on criminal laws and the ethical standards applicable to everyday cases. My enthusiasm for law extends beyond criminal defense. I am also a passionate civil litigator with significant experience in mediation, having graduated from the Pepperdine Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution. This training enhances my ability to represent clients effectively across all areas of law, including trials. I have litigated hundreds of civil cases throughout California. As a lawyer, my strengths include presenting, persuading, and communicating effectively. I possess a deep understanding of criminal law, which I complement with a quick wit and personal anecdotes to keep my lectures engaging, humorous, and authentic, whether in a courtroom or a classroom setting. I take a personal approach to each case, meeting with every client, managing their files directly, and making personal court appearances. Throughout my career, I have received numerous accolades and honors. However, I find the greatest reward in receiving messages of gratitude from satisfied clients and their families.
