After much contemplation, Maria Fortune sought and earned a position as an Assistant City Attorney for the Child Protection Unit in Denver,Colorado. As an Assistant City Attorney, Maria Fortune represented the Department of Human Services in mediating and coordinating with families, social workers, psychologists, therapists, forensic interviewers, and various other entities to ensure the safety and best interests of children and families. Maria Fortune served as lead counsel on cases involving numerous family law issues; including, but not limited to, dependency and neglect, visitation, parental responsibility, parenting time, family reunifications, custody, and adoptions.
