About
I am Laura W Vale, a fifth-generation Texan, born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I graduated from Barnard College, the women’s college affiliated with Columbia University in New York City, and earned my law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in Austin. I have been licensed to practice law in Texas since 2003, and I bring decades of experience in both business and law to my practice. My legal work focuses on estate planning and probate law. My background in probate cases allows me to take a comprehensive approach to estate planning, helping estates either avoid probate altogether or have a smooth, efficient probate. Probate cases include probate of a will, ancillary probate of a foreign will, probate of will as muniment of title, uncontested guardianship, appointment of guardian for a minor child, determination of heirship, independent administration, dependent administration, estate administration, small estate affidavits, and affidavits of heirship. My estate planning services include drafting wills, powers of attorney, medical powers of attorney, advanced directives, HIPAA release forms, designation of guardian in advance of need, designation of guardian for minor children, last wishes, appointment of agent for disposition of remains, revocable living trusts for unmarried individuals, revocable living trusts for married couples, trust restatements and amendments, trust decanting, and trust funding services. I also prepare transfer on death deeds and lady bird deeds, and I provide estate plan reviews and consultations. In family law, I assist with uncontested divorces, including divorce mediation, premarital agreements, postmarital agreements, and uncontested adoptions. I currently handle probate cases in Bexar County, Kendall County, Comal County, Blanco County, Medina County, Atascosa County, Guadalupe County, Hays County, Travis County, and Williamson County. I offer initial consultations in person, over the phone, or via Zoom.
