Gilda McDowell

I am a family based immigration attorney in Lubbock, Texas, and I help families work through cases involving adjustment of status, waivers, naturalization, and humanitarian options. I have been practicing for more than fifteen years, and my goal is to guide people with clarity, compassion, and steady support during moments that often feel stressful or uncertain. I primarily work with immigrants and mixed status families who want safety, stability, and a path toward legal status. Clients often share that they feel calmer after speaking with me because I explain things in a straightforward way and help them understand each step. I aim to make the process feel manageable so families can move forward with confidence. Before opening my own firm, I studied law in Mexico and later continued my education in the United States. I earned my Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law and completed my undergraduate degree in Political Science at the University of Northern Colorado. My experience as an immigrant shapes how I practice and keeps me connected to the people I serve every day. Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and staying involved in the community that has supported me throughout my journey.
