The office provided federal loans and grants to those who suffered physical and/or economic damage to their homes and/or businesses as a result of natural disasters. Attorney Appiah earned her law degree from Albany Law School in Albany, NY, in 2003. It was there that she gained extensive appellate experience through internships with the Albany County District Attorney's Office Criminal Appeals Division, the Hon. Thomas J. McAvoy in the U.S. Northern District Court of New York, as well as with the Corporations Division of the New York State Department of State. After completing law school and moving to Florida, Ms. Appiah worked for a general practice firm. She then worked as a Program Attorney for the 6th Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program and Statewide Program, representing the best interest of children in juvenile dependency cases. She has been a solo practitioner from 2008 - present. Ms. Appiah contracted with the 10th Judicial Public Defender's Office as a Special Assistant Public Defender on felony criminal appellate cases until 2021.
