Scott D Lane

Scott D. Lane is the senior partner at Lane Brown, LLC, a Chicago-based personal injury law firm. At our boutique firm, Mr. Lane focuses on cases involving medical and professional negligence, advocacy for survivors of sexual abuse, premises and product liability, motor vehicle accidents, and other matters related to catastrophic injury and wrongful death. He earned his Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude, from Southern Methodist University before completing his Juris Doctorate at Loyola University of Chicago School of Law in 1988. During his time at Loyola, Mr. Lane was a member of the Law Review and the Trial Team. Mr. Lane is proud to be a founding member of the Circle of Advocates. In 2002, Mr. Lane was named one of Illinois’ 40 Under 40 Attorneys to Watch. He has also been consistently recognized as an Illinois Super Lawyer, as featured in Law & Politics and Chicago Magazine. In 2014, Mr. Lane became a member of The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100. Mr. Lane serves as the director and instructor of the Illinois State Bar Association Trial Technique Institute and as an adjunct professor at Loyola University of Chicago School of Law. He frequently lectures at civil litigation bar association seminars and has had the privilege of coaching Loyola’s Trial Team. Mr. Lane is actively involved in several legal organizations, including the American College of Legal Medicine, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice. Outside of his legal work, Mr. Lane enjoys spending time with his wife, Nancy, to whom he has been married for over thirty-two years, and their two adult children. Mr. Lane also dedicates time to writing articles, texts, and chapters on civil litigation topics. Mr. Lane co-authored Lane’s Goldstein Trial Technique and Lane Medical Litigation Guide.
