About

James Yang earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, a school recognized for its engineering program. Prior to entering the legal field, James Yang worked extensively in different areas of mechanical engineering. For several years, James managed a folding carton business where he acquired hands-on experience with automated machinery, printing equipment, die cutting machines and all aspects of paper box manufacturing. James also worked as a mechanical engineer for Avibank Manufacturing, a supplier of custom fasteners for the aerospace industry where he designed products for companies such as Boeing. Shortly before entering law school, James worked as a project manager at ACL Technologies responsible for the installation of multi-million dollar pneumatic test facilities for the Taiwan Air Force. James obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. While attending law school, he was employed as a law clerk with a prominent Orange County Patent Law Firm. This provided him with unique practical experience of applying newly learned legal principles immediately in a real-world environment under the guidance of seasoned patent attorneys. Following his graduation from Loyola Law School in 2003, James accepted a position with the Orange County law firm as a patent attorney. In 2008, he was offered a partner position in the firm which he gladly accepted. At his law firm James gained valuable experience in all areas of intellectual property law, patent strategy and patent prosecution. His technology focus includes all types of simple to complex mechanical inventions. Jamesâ educational background and work experience in mechanical engineering greatly enhanced his technical understanding of the intricacies of mechanical inventions. He serves clients throughout Orange County and the greater Irvine area. In his spare time James enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, road biking and bowling. One of his goals is to snowboard at every major ski resort in North America. So far, he has gone to Whistler, Canada; Park City, Utah, and various ski resorts in California, such as Lake Tahoe, Mammoth, and Big Bear.
