Barrett R. King is a founding Member of King|Hall LLC, a boutique litigation and estate planning firm in Ellicott City, Maryland. He focuses his practice on adult guardianship, estate and trust litigation, estate planning, and elder law, serving clients throughout the Baltimore metropolitan area and Maryland. Mr. King serves on the Rule Review Group of the Maryland Rules Committee as a Consultant on guardianship and capacity-related matters. In March 2026, he served as faculty at the Maryland Guardianship Summit hosted by the Maryland Judicial College, and is a frequent faculty member for CLE and judicial education programs statewide. He earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Salisbury University (2002) and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law (2006). He is admitted to practice in Maryland, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, the U.S. Tax Court, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. King has been selected to the Maryland Super Lawyers list every year since 2014 and was inducted as a Fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation in 2019 — an invitation-only honor extended to no more than 2.5% of MSBA membership. He is a member of the MSBA's Elder & Disability Rights, Litigation, and Estate and Trust Law Sections, and is a past President of the Board of Directors of the Women's Law Center of Maryland.
