John J Kennedy Jr

I am the founding partner of Kennedy, Johnson, Schwab & Roberge, P.C., a firm I established in 1988 alongside David Johnson. Over the course of my more than 42 years practicing law in Connecticut, I have dedicated my career to representing injured clients before juries. My work as a trial attorney has been a central focus of my professional life. Trying cases before juries remains my passion, particularly in matters involving automobile accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice, and product liability. Beyond jury trials, I have extensive experience resolving cases before trial through mediation, arbitration, and negotiation. I am frequently called upon to serve as a mediator and arbitrator in medical malpractice and other personal injury cases. I was honored to be inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, a distinction shared by only 500 lawyers across the United States. My professional affiliations include active membership in the New Haven County Bar Association, where I served as president from 1991 to 1992. I also participate in the American Association for Justice and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, serving as president of the latter from 2011 to 2012. Additionally, I am a member of ABOTA and a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. I believe that a lawyer’s understanding of the law is essential to effective client representation. As such, I have often lectured at continuing legal education programs hosted by the Connecticut Bar Association, the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, and the New Haven County Bar Association. Since 2011, I have served as co-chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association. I am admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, as well as the Eastern, Southern, and Northern districts of New York, in addition to all state courts in Connecticut.
