I have practiced in all aspects of patents, copyrights and trademarks since mid-1985 when i started my career as a patent agent as I attended law school at night. I have been with Lerner Daivd since 1987. I have been the ad hoc and then in title the managing partner for nearly 25 years. I have an in depth understanding of all IP areas which not only aids in advising clients but in running the operational side of the business. After procuring and litigating patents and trademarks at high levels, and years of transactional support, I spearheaded our diligence and opinion practice to advise clients on risk in bringing products to the market as well as in connection with M&A transactions. We investigate and evaluate the scope of the attendant risks and work with our client to manage those risks. This may include redesign efforts, securing licenses or providing opinions to provide business guidance in moving forward as well as insulate clients from assertions of wilfullness (which could result in treble damages). Outside of work, it is all about family, friends, community service and golf.
