About

Justin Baran is a seasoned trial attorney whose practice focuses on criminal defense and litigation. Before entering private practice, Justin served as a Senior Deputy Prosecutor with the York County District Attorney’s Office, where he managed a docket of more than 500 criminal cases and led many of those in jury trials to verdict. His experience spans the prosecution of homicides, violent felonies, firearms offenses, drug/narcotics trafficking, thefts, DUIs, and animal cruelty cases. In his prosecutorial role, Justin oversaw all aspects of courtroom operations, supervised deputy prosecutors, and directed the strategic handling of cases from charging decisions through final case resolutions. His years in prosecution provide him with a deep understanding of how cases are built, investigated, and tried – invaluable insight that he now leverages to defend his clients with precision and foresight. Before joining the York County District Attorney’s Office, Justin worked as a private criminal defense attorney, representing clients throughout central Pennsylvania in matters ranging from summary traffic offenses all the way up to serious felony charges. Justin began his legal career as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Todd M. Sponseller of the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, where he gained extensive experience in legal research, judicial writing, and courtroom procedure across criminal, civil, and family law matters. A graduate of Widener University Commonwealth Law School, Justin is admitted to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and is an active member of both the Pennsylvania and York County Bar Associations. Justin brings a comprehensive understanding of both sides of the criminal justice system. His clients benefit from his compassionate dealings with them as well as his meticulous preparation, significant trial experience, and unwavering commitment to achieving the best possible outcome in every case.
