I bring a unique business perspective to our clients, drawing from my background as a former in-house attorney. My areas of focus include corporate and transactional opportunities, employment issues, licensing challenges, workers' compensation claims, wage and hour concerns, local permitting, and general corporate governance. I concentrate my practice on business and transactional matters, with a wealth of experience in labor and employment, entity formation, business licensing, commercial and restaurant leases, vendor contracts, lease extensions and disputes, purchase agreements, title curative work, landlord and tenant issues, and special event permitting. My nearly 20 years as an in-house counsel have equipped me with a distinctive viewpoint that I bring to our clients. During my tenure as counsel for a local New Orleans company, I partnered with business owners, providing guidance on federal and state wage and hour laws and various employment matters including unemployment claims, health insurance, workplace safety, Form I-9 compliance, leave management, and disability accommodation. I offered guidance and solutions to over 200 clients to navigate successfully through the Covid-19 pandemic. I advised employers on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention testing and quarantine guidance to maintain staffing levels, facilitate quick returns to work for employees, and minimize employer liability. I collaborated with outside counsel on workers’ compensation litigation and corporate litigation, and managed filings for corporate, insurance, and professional licenses across 10 states. Additionally, I oversaw E-Verify employer agent services, wage garnishments, and record requests.
