Kaitlyn S. Lumpkin

I take great pleasure in serving as both a legal counselor and business advisor to our clients. My experience in health care, tax, and insurance litigation enables me to effectively understand and address the business objectives of my clients. I focus my practice on casualty and mass tort litigation matters, while also bringing a wealth of experience in health care, tax, and insurance litigation. My professional journey includes representing health care institutions in liability litigation and Texas Board of Nursing matters. I provide legal guidance on compliance, risk management, and regulatory matters, including HIPPA, Medicare, and Medicaid requirements. I am familiar with analyzing medical data and literature and collaborating with medical experts and consultants to develop sound legal arguments. Additionally, I have independently managed a health care litigation trial docket and motions practice, as well as conducted and defended depositions of parties and experts. Previously, I collaborated with claims adjusters, investigators, and experts to evaluate claims and develop defense strategies. My responsibilities have included managing the third-party discovery process, directing E-Discovery investigations, creating damage models in preparation for mediations, preparing pre-trial discovery, and drafting and compiling motions for summary judgment. I have also drafted legal reports for IRS compliance and worked closely with department directors, business owners, and other stakeholders to complete research and develop tax credit studies. During my time in law school, I served as an intern for the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County and BNSF Railway.
