About
I’m Joseph A. Nigh, the founder of The Nigh Law Group, a family law firm based in Columbus, Ohio. I started NLG in 2016 after serving as a partner at two other law firms in Columbus. Since then, my firm has received recognition in family law, including being named a top-three finisher in Columbus CEO Magazine’s “Best in Business” for family law, listed in Best Lawyers in America, and recognized as one of the “Best Litigation Attorneys in Columbus.” Throughout my career, I’ve represented clients in nearly half of Ohio’s 88 counties, working to achieve favorable outcomes for those I serve. My courtroom experience has taught me to assess cases thoroughly and provide clients with clear, strategic guidance. I’m dedicated to preparing each case with care and to helping my clients navigate their legal challenges with determination and focus. In addition to my law practice, I serve as an adjunct professor at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where I developed and teach a course on Divorce Trial Practice. I’ve also had the privilege of delivering more than 40 continuing legal education presentations, sharing insights with attorneys both in Ohio and across the country. My work has been recognized with several honors over the years. I hold Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Preeminent rating, the highest distinction for legal ability and ethical standards. I’ve been named to Best Lawyers in America, selected to the Ohio Super Lawyers list for seven consecutive years, and included in The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100. On Avvo, I maintain a perfect 10 “Superb” rating and a 5.0 client review score. Outside of my practice, I serve on the Columbus Bar Association Professional Ethics Committee and have been involved with other professional and civic organizations. Above all, I’m passionate about guiding clients through the divorce process with compassion, clarity, and steadfast advocacy.
