Michael T. Newman

My practice focuses on insurance defense, civil litigation, probate, and collections. Over the years, I have gained significant litigation experience through numerous civil trials, handling personal injury claims, property damage claims, insurance-related contract disputes, debtor-creditor claims, and appeals. I have also had the opportunity to give several presentations on Arkansas civil procedure, litigation, and insurance law. I was born and raised in Arkansas and earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism in 1987 and a master’s degree in philosophy in 1990, both from the University of Arkansas. Between 1989 and 1992, I completed 67 hours toward a philosophy Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 1998, I earned my J.D. from the University of Missouri School of Law, where I was a member of the Journal of Dispute Resolution. Outside of work, I enjoy editing and contributing to the Arklahoma Hiker trail guide blog. I am licensed to practice law in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri.
