Jillian Rotman

I am an attorney whose practice centers on family law and criminal defense. Born and raised in the Philadelphia area, I graduated from The Episcopal Academy before earning my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Ursinus College. At Ursinus, I graduated summa cum laude as class salutatorian, competed in collegiate indoor and outdoor track and field as a student-athlete, joined Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology, and participated in Ursinus College Hillel. I received my Juris Doctor from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, where I was honored as a Dean’s Merit Scholar and served as Co-President of the Family Law Society. My legal writing skills were recognized when I was awarded Second-Best Appellate Brief in the 64th Annual Theodore L. Reimel Moot Court Competition. During law school, I gained hands-on experience as a student attorney representing clients in immigration cases, held research assistant positions, and worked as a legal extern in the Animal Legal Defense Fund's pro bono department. I have a strong passion for animal law and nonprofit work focused on animal rescue and welfare, and I actively seek cases involving animal law issues. My legal experience also includes a judicial externship in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, Criminal Division, as well as roles as a law clerk and intake specialist at a prominent plaintiff-side personal injury firm. During my final year of law school, I worked as an extern and later as an attorney at a respected law firm in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, where I handled a variety of civil litigation, criminal defense, and family law matters. I eventually partnered with colleagues to establish Johnson Starling & Rotman, where I continue to leverage my diverse litigation background to advocate effectively for my clients.
