Nathaniel J. Price

I am an associate in the Firm’s Labor and Employment Department, where I work with public and private sector employers on labor and employment litigation, administrative proceedings, and day-to-day counseling. My practice involves defending employers in matters arising under the California Labor Code and Government Code, including claims brought under the California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) and whistleblower protection statutes. I have significant experience navigating all phases of litigation, such as conducting written discovery, investigating facts, interviewing witnesses, engaging in motion practice, preparing for depositions, and assisting with trial preparation. I frequently represent employers before administrative agencies, including the California Public Employment Relations Board (PERB), Civil Service Commissions, and Employee Relations Commissions. My work includes defending clients against unfair labor practice charges and handling grievance arbitrations. I also advise employers in pre-litigation matters, including responding to inquiries from the California Civil Rights Department. Beyond litigation, I provide counsel to employers on a wide variety of labor and employment topics, including labor relations, wage-and-hour compliance, FEHA compliance, discipline and discharge, leaves of absence, hiring practices, background checks, and California Public Records Act requests. Additionally, I have coordinated workplace misconduct investigations, collaborating with neutral investigators to establish the scope of investigations, manage communications, and assess investigative findings.
