Jackie Staple

I am a labor and employment attorney based in Jackson Walker’s Houston office. My work focuses on helping companies navigate employment law compliance and managing labor and employment matters in transactional settings. I have extensive experience drafting employment, separation and release, and restrictive covenant agreements. I am also involved in mergers and acquisitions, where I conduct due diligence on employment considerations in equity and asset transactions. I assist clients with a wide range of personnel matters, providing guidance and training to both union and non-union workplaces. My goal is to support managers in handling these and other day-to-day workplace challenges effectively. I work with employers to develop and update policies and procedures, including multi-state employee handbooks, ensuring compliance with evolving employment laws. When internal complaints arise, I have served as an independent investigator, conducting witness interviews and preparing factual findings and recommendations. When litigation becomes necessary, I draw upon my background in education, the arts, and litigation to support my clients through administrative processes and trial preparation. I have managed numerous administrative charges nationwide, including those filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, National Labor Relations Board, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration, among others. I have represented employers in lawsuits involving allegations such as sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, whistleblowing, breaches of employee covenants, and breaches of employment contracts. My work involves addressing claims under Title VII, FLSA, ADA/ADAAA, ADEA, FMLA, NLRA, and various state laws.
