Paul Lee

Paul Lee is engaged in the relentless pursuit of justice for victims of serious injuries. He has successfully handled hundreds of major personal injury matters, including those involving vehicle accidents, workplace accidents, products liability, toxic torts and premises liability, including severe spinal cord injuries, brain damage, fractures, amputations, third degree burns, severe lung damage, leukemia and other injuries. In the area of defective and dangerous products, Paul has successfully settled cases involving automobiles, heavy machinery and equipment, consumer products, chemicals and pharmaceutical products. Before founding Kaplan Lee LLP, Paul was a litigation partner at Lewis, Brisbois, Bisgaard & Smith LLP, one of the largest law firms in California. He honed his litigation skills while amassing an impressive record as a defense attorney on behalf of corporations and insurance companies. His successes as a defense lawyer have included the dismissal of a manufacturing client in a case involving severe obstructive lung disease, even though other defendants were forced to pay millions of dollars. He also obtained outright dismissals or summary judgment victories on behalf of many other corporate defendants, including a pharmaceutical company, an industrial wire shelving manufacturer, an industrial pump component manufacturer, an environmental remediation company and a Fortune 100 retailer, in separate cases involving catastrophic injuries. Today Paul is thrilled to be utilizing his skills to bring justice for injured victims. He finds it particularly fulfilling to achieve outstanding results on behalf of those who otherwise would be left without recompense. In recognition of his achievements, in 2009-2010 Paul was retained by an out-of-state law firm to prosecute a mass tort lawsuit on behalf of thousands of injured victims of Hurricane Katrina. In addition to specializing in personal injury and product liability matters, Paul has successfully litigated complex business and employment matters, including those involving breach of contract, Business and Professions Code 17200 claims, fraud, business torts, Proposition 65 and wrongful termination. He and his family reside in Huntington Beach with their husky and cat.
