Jim Boness

I earned my law degree from Southern Illinois University in 2002 and have been practicing law for two decades. For the first 14 years of my career, I focused on criminal law, building a thriving solo practice and gaining substantial courtroom and trial experience. Over time, I discovered that my interests were shifting toward a different area of law, which led to the creation of INTELLEQUITY. To pursue this new direction, I completed advanced courses in intellectual property law at John Marshall University Law School in Chicago, Illinois. After moving to Portland, Oregon, in 2017, I earned my MBA from Portland State University to deepen my understanding of my clients' business needs and better support them. Currently, my work focuses on providing services related to trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property matters, as well as business formation and business law. I am licensed to practice in state and federal courts in Oregon, as well as in state courts in Washington.
