About

I grew up in and around Fort Atkinson. I went to college and law school in Oklahoma and Virginia. I visited China for a month, and I visited Israel for two weeks. I had the honor and privilege of studying under Former U.S. Attorney-General John Ashcroft; Sitting Virginia Supreme Court Justice D. Arthur Kelsey; Professors Brad Jacob and James Duane, who had U.S. Supreme Court Justices Antonin Scalia and Stephen Breyer as law professors; Ben Madison, who writes law school Civil Procedure text books for Carolina Academic Press, a national law school textbook publisher; and Harvard Law School Alumni, James Duane, Natt Gantt, and Caleb Griffin. I name all of these people not to namedrop, but to underscore the quality of my legal education. I had to take the Wisconsin Bar Exam because I attended law school out of state. I passed the Bar Exam on my first attempt. Since students at Wisconsin law schools do not have to take the Wisconsin Bar Exam, I accomplished a feat that many Wisconsin lawyers have not accomplished. The Lord helps me when I struggle. In law school and on the Bar Exam, I prayed and received the Lord's help in my greatest challenges. That help really helped me succeed. I wrote and won a motion to transfer jurisdiction under the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Enforcement Act. I wrote a Motion to Dismiss under the Wisconsin Rules of Civil Procedure. I have obtained four divorces for clients, negotiated divorce and custody stipulations, won a modification of placement for a father, spared a client from a potential contempt finding, defeated an attempt to deprive a client of custody, helped a client convince a court to allow her to avoid paying child support, and helped a client protect an elder. My hobbies are reading, listening to music, listening to sports, playing cards, having good conversations, getting to know people, reading, listening to lectures and debates, and learning interesting information.
