About
I am a Board Certified Civil Trial lawyer with over 35 years of trial experience in both state and federal courts. My practice focuses on ADA and FHA consulting and defense on a national level. I represent a wide range of clients, including real estate developers, retailers, restaurants, shopping centers, banks, apartment owners and managers, hotels, single-family developers, and governmental entities in ADA and FHA accessibility litigation and administrative proceedings. I frequently speak on ADA and FHA accessibility topics to national and local organizations such as the International Council of Shopping Center Developers, the Society of Exchange Counselors, and the National Retail Tenants Association, among others. My work has been featured in publications like Forbes and The Economist, where I have been interviewed and quoted on these issues. Additionally, my consulting practice includes private client training and public webinars designed to help clients avoid and successfully navigate ADA and FHA lawsuits. I have also had the privilege of serving as an adjunct professor of Disability Law at the SMU Dedman School of Law and as an adjunct professor of Trial Advocacy at the former DFW School of Law. My blog, “Accessibility Defense,” has become a national resource for attorneys, accessibility professionals, and others involved in ADA and FHA litigation.
