Teresa Abood-Hoffman

Teresa Abood Hoffman, is the managing partner at Hoffman & Hoffman P.A.. Teresa was admitted to practice law in the state of Michigan in 1989, and the state of Florida in 1990. Born and raised in Lansing, Michigan, Teresa's father, Fredric S. Abood, founded the Abood law firm in Lansing over 60 years ago, where Teresa worked from a very young age, and where her family still operates and runs the firm today. Teresa studied in Michigan, completing AA, BA, and JD degrees. After being admitted to practice law in Michigan, Teresa decided to further her studies in estate planning and came to the only school in the country that offered an LLME, Masters of law in Estate Planning, at the Heckerling Program at the University of Miami. Miami was where she met her future husband, John, who was in the tax LLM program. Within a year they married, and 27 years of marriage later, they still practice together at Hoffman & Hoffman. After they were blessed with 3 children in the early years of their marriage, they formed Hoffman & Hoffman. For over 23 years, they have not only managed to stay afloat in the competitive market of Miami, but they have expanded, with satellite offices throughout the state of Florida. Teresa maintains active licenses, and clients, in both states of Michigan and Florida, and continues her of-counsel relationship with the Abood Law Firm in East Lansing, and Birmingham, Michigan. Her primary practice areas are Family Law, Estate Planning, Probate, Trust, and Guardianship administration and litigation.
