Lisa Ann Haddock-Malas is a Senior Associate at Hastings Shadmehry Family Law, with 25 years of experience in family law, juvenile law and probate matters. Ms. Malas is a tenacious, imaginative, and compassionate family law advocate. Her practice includes divorce, child custody and support, paternity, legitimation, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, post-judgment modifications, guardianship, domestic partnerships, and juvenile dependency cases. She also represents children as a guardian ad litem and is a certified mediator in general, civil and domestic law, giving her clients a distinct advantage when entering into the mediation process. A representative of the Department of Family and Children Services for 17 years, Ms. Malas began her legal career as a special assistant attorney general. In that role, she handled deprivation cases, termination of parental rights and other child welfare. This early experience shaped her career-long commitment to advocacy and to ensuring that the rights and best interests of vulnerable individuals are protected. Ms. Malas’s leadership within the legal community further reflects this commitment. She was appointed by the Supreme Court of Georgia as a mentor for the Transition into Law Practice Program of the State Bar of Georgia, is a founding member of the Forsyth County Family Treatment Court, and is an active member of the Family Law and Child Welfare sections of the State Bar of Georgia. Ms. Malas frequently lectures and writes on juvenile law, sharing her experience with colleagues and stakeholders in multiple Georgia counties. A native of Marietta/East Cobb, Ms. Malas earned her Juris Doctorate with honors from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School and graduated cum laude from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Ms. Malas is widely recognized by teammates and legal professionals as a compassionate, knowledgeable and dedicated advocate for families across the state.
