Andrea Dyer Hastings

Andrea Dyer Hastings is a Founding Partner at Hastings Shadmehry Family Law in Alpharetta, Georgia, and for 25 years has dedicated her practice entirely to family law. She has significant experience in handling complex domestic litigation cases, and she brings that experience to each and every case she handles. Ms. Hastings is highly skilled and profoundly accomplished in all areas of family law including divorce, custody, modification, domestic violence, and paternity and legitimation cases, prenuptial and post-nuptial agreements. She is particularly adept at managing high-asset litigation involving extensive marital holdings, executive compensation packages, and intricate financial structues. Ms. Hastings is trained as a Guardian ad Litem and specializes in protecting the interests of children involved in custody matters. Ms. Hastings is also a trained and certified domestic Mediator, which endows her with unique qualifications when entering into mediation on behalf of her clients. Ms. Hastings lectures on family law issues at events sponsored by church, civic, and business organizations. She also volunteers her time mentoring high school, college, and law school students competing in Mock Trial events, helping them hone their skills as future lawyers and advocates. Ms. Hastings earned her Juris Doctorate at the University of Georgia School of Law in 1997, where she graduated at the top of her class. While at law school, Ms. Hastings was an active member of The Order of Barristers. She was licensed in Georgia in 1997 and gained admission to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, as well as the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Georgia. Ms. Hastings earned her undergraduate degree in International Studies and Russian at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she graduated in 1994 with Highest Distinction, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
