Debrai Haile

I have been practicing employment law exclusively since 1999. My prior experience includes working at Jackson Lewis, one of the largest employment law firms in the world, and spending two decades at Laner Muchin, a Chicago-based national employment law firm. During my time at Laner Muchin, I served as a partner for 16 of those years. In 2024, I launched Haile Law LLC, a firm dedicated entirely to handling employment law matters. While I now represent both employers and employees, my focus was solely on representing employers until I started Haile Law. My experience with employers includes: - Successfully defending employers in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, family leave, and other employment-related claims before administrative agencies and in state and federal courts. - Acting as lead counsel in numerous high-stakes cases, including class action wage and hour lawsuits, non-compete disputes, multi-plaintiff cases, and other complex legal matters. - Advising and counseling clients on a variety of employment law issues, such as family and medical leave laws, drug and alcohol testing regulations, background check compliance, whistleblower protections, workplace investigations, and wage and hour compliance, among others. - Drafting essential employment documents, including executive employment agreements, employee handbooks, background check compliance manuals, and other key policies. - Conducting training in the workplace on topics ranging from anti-harassment and effective management practices to performance evaluations and wage and hour law compliance. Throughout my career, I’ve represented both publicly and privately-held companies. At Haile Law LLC, I continue to serve these clients while also representing executives and professionals.
