Gregory Laurence Mayback

I have been a Registered Patent Attorney since 1997. During that time, I participated in the issuance of over 1,700 U.S. patents. I founded MAYBACK IP LAW, P.A., a firm focusing on intellectual property in 2023 and am currently employed here. I have been fortunate to receive several recognitions throughout my career. In 2010, I was honored with the “Most Effective Lawyers” Award from the South Florida Daily Business Review for achieving a patent infringement verdict exceeding $24 million in the case of Michael Powell v. The Home Depot USA, Inc. I have also been acknowledged by CHAMBERS with a Band 2 distinction from 2022 to 2025 and by BEST LAWYERS for Patent Law and Litigation - Intellectual Property from 2022 to 2026. Additionally, my work contributed to my firm being recognized by BEST LAW FIRMS for Intellectual Property-Patent Law from 2023 to 2025. My achievements include being named among Florida SUPER LAWYERS (top 5% of the state’s lawyers) from 2007 to 2025 and being recognized as part of the LEGAL ELITE (top 2% of the state’s lawyers) by Florida Trend Magazine from 2004 to 2006 and 2008 to 2016. I was also listed in South Florida Legal Guide’s TOP LAWYERS AND LAW FIRMS from 2007 to 2009 and 2012 to 2018, and I received the BEST OF THE BAR recognition from the South Florida Business Journal during the award's three-year existence (2003, 2004, and 2005). Since 2002, I have held an AV Rating with Martindale-Hubbell. Over the years, I have also been granted multiple patents, including those related to Stretch Valve Balloon Catheters and Transcutaneous Electrostimulators. These patents span from innovations like the Cryotherapy device with cryoprotection issued in 2020 to various methods for producing and using Stretch Valve Balloon Catheters and Transcutaneous Electrostimulators, with patents awarded as recently as January 2025. I am grateful for these opportunities and honors, which reflect my dedication to the field of intellectual property law.
