John G Tamasitis

John focuses his practice on business transactions, commercial real estate development, commercial leasing, and commercial lending. John also has experience representing commercial investors, utilities, and financial institutions in connection with commercial bankruptcy, insolvency, creditors’ rights issues, and all phases of real estate litigation law, as well as commercial and real estate litigation. John is currently an adjunct instructor for the University of South Carolina School of Law’s Veterans Legal Clinic, which serves the legal needs of indigent veterans and their families living in South Carolina. John has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America as “Ones to Watch” in Commercial Litigation in 2021 and selected as one of Columbia Business Monthly’s “Legal Elite” in Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights in 2020. While earning his law degree at the University of South Carolina School of Law, he was the Fourth Circuit Editor for the South Carolina Law Review. In addition, he was a member of the Veterans and Service Members in Law Society. Prior to practicing law, John served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, ultimately obtaining the rank of Captain. He served as the counterintelligence branch chief for two bases in Florida, directing anti-terrorism and counterintelligence investigations and services with the FBI and other government agencies. He also led a counterintelligence and counterinsurgency teams in Afghanistan and was awarded the Bronze Star for his efforts. John received his bachelor’s degree at the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he served as the class president and a cadet squadron commander. Prior to joining Graybill, Lanchse & Vinzani, John’s practice focused primary on commercial real estate and construction litigation, banking and financial services litigation, and commercial bankruptcy with a large regional firm in Columbia.
