Fees

Free Consultation We charge $200 for our initial consultation in the office for up to 1 hour of time. We typically charge hourly for contested divorces, or for matters where no agreement has been reached. However, if you have reached an agreement we charge a flat for for an uncontested divorce. We can also sometimes charge a flat fee for preparing a separation agreement, but only when the agreement has been reached and all we are doing is writing it up. The reason attorneys cannot charge a flat fee for a contested divorce is we do not know in advance how much time will be spent on the case. I like to compare it to an Uber drive. Until the driver knows how far you are going he cannot charge a flat fee, but has to run the meter until you arrive at your destination. That said, our fees are very reasonable compared to other attorneys in this area with our level of experience.
