About
A little about me. I was born on September 30, 1956, in Birmingham, Alabama, and have called Huntsville, Alabama, home since 1980. I am married and have two sons. **Education** **Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSE)** In 1986, I earned my MSE degree in electrical engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. **Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)** I completed my BSEE degree at the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 1980. **Juris Doctor (JD)** From May 2002 to August 2005, I attended the Birmingham School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama. On May 22, 2006, I was awarded my Juris Doctor degree. While working at NASA's George C. Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, I was selected as a juror in a medical malpractice trial during the Spring of 2000. The attorney representing the defendant doctor was highly capable and did an outstanding job advocating for him. By the end of the trial, I found myself deeply contemplating the idea of becoming an attorney. After discussing it with my wife, we made the decision to pursue that path—and pursue it we did! While continuing to work full-time at NASA, I commuted to night classes in Birmingham, traveling the equivalent of thirteen round trips across the country. During this time, both of our sons were born, leaving my wife to manage things on her own three to four days each week. On September 29, 2006, at 8:18 a.m., that dream became a reality when we learned that I had passed the Alabama State Bar Exam.
