Patrick Joseph Beirne

PJ Beirne is an experienced trial attorney who is deeply committed to representing children and families harmed by medical negligence, defective medical devices, and dangerous medications. He has successfully tried and resolved numerous such cases over his 30 years of practice, helping families navigate some of the most devastating circumstances they will ever face. PJ has counseled several of the largest Ohio medical malpractice jury verdicts on behalf of families whose children suffered catastrophic brain injuries due to negligence of the obstetrical team at labor and delivery. These verdicts include a $22,646,023 jury verdict against Group Health Associates in Hamilton County, Ohio, a $30,953,181 jury verdict against Miami Valley Hospital in Montgomery County, Ohio and a 11,750,000 verdict against Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy, Ohio. In recognition of his work, PJ is consistently named an Ohio & Kentucky Super Lawyer. He is an active member of the Cincinnati Bar Association, Southwest Ohio Trial Lawyers Association, Northern Kentucky Bar Association, the Ohio Association for Justice, the Kentucky Justice Association and the American Association for Justice. Beyond his litigation practice, Mr. Beirne regularly speaks and presents on medical-legal issues for both healthcare providers and attorneys. He has lectured at area schools and served as a judge and coach for moot court competitions. He lives in Cincinnati’s Mt. Lookout neighborhood with his high school sweetheart and wife, Beth. Together, they’ve raised their four boys. With his boys mostly moved out, he can often be found on a bicycle on the Little Miami Bike Trail or the rural roads of Cincinnati or Northern Kentucky.
