About
Sarah Jo Kirchner is a compassionate and tenacious family law attorney who guides clients through some of life’s most challenging moments with respect, patience, and unwavering advocacy. Her commitment to this work began long before law school, when she volunteered with organizations supporting survivors of domestic violence in Seattle. Inspired to serve more directly, Sarah Jo earned her law degree from Tulane University School of Law, where she represented clients as a Rule XX student attorney in both the Domestic Violence Clinic and the Women’s Prison Project. She completed more than 400 pro bono hours with Southeast Louisiana Legal Services and obtained certificates in Negotiation, Mediation, and International Arbitration through Humboldt University of Berlin. Sarah Jo had the privilege of clerking for Judge Bernadette D’Souza during her presidency of the National Association of Women Judges. She then spent several years at Southeast Louisiana Legal Services representing clients in domestic violence protection orders, custody disputes, and divorce matters. After returning to Washington in 2023, she served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Department of Children, Youth, and Families’ Juvenile Litigation section, gaining meaningful insight into child welfare and state involvement in family systems. Today, Sarah Jo brings her blend of experience, empathy, and practical judgment to private family law practice, where she is honored to help clients find stability, safety, and a path forward.
