Steven M. Chanley

In 2002, I founded Employer Advocates Group law firm with a single mission: to defend and protect employers in employment law matters. That is accomplished by defending businesses in all manner of employment litigation, in both state and federal courts, and by providing sound advice regarding workplace policies and practices designed to effectively manage legal risk. With offices in Orange County and San Luis Obispo, EAG is well-positioned to represent employers across California. I hold an "AV Preeminent" rating from the Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest rating an attorney can receive, based on demonstrated legal ability and adherence to professional ethics, reliability, and diligence. Before establishing EAG in 2002, I practiced employment law in the Palo Alto office of multi-national law firm Morrison & Foerster. I began my career as a labor and employment lawyer in San Francisco at the then-main office of Littler, Mendelson, Fastiff & Tichy. Immediately prior to founding EAG, I was also a partner at the preeminent regional law firm of Sinsheimer, Schiebelhut, & Baggett in San Luis Obispo. I grew up in San Luis Obispo County and attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo for my undergraduate studies. I earned my law degree from the University of California Law School in San Francisco. I am a member of the State Bar of California and have the authority to practice in all federal courts in California, as well as federal district courts in Texas.
