Elizabeth Franklin-Best

My name is Elizabeth Franklin-Best, and I focus my practice on criminal appellate law and federal criminal law. My legal career began at the Richland County Public Defender’s Office, where I worked alongside deeply dedicated attorneys. Following that, I joined the South Carolina Commission on Indigent Defense, Appellate Division, where I reviewed and analyzed hundreds of cases. During that time, I gained significant experience arguing before the South Carolina Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals. For seven years, I was a partner at the law firm of Blume Franklin-Best & Young, LLC, concentrating on capital post-conviction and appellate cases. I am licensed to practice law in New York, South Carolina, the South Carolina District Court, all federal courts of appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Currently, I am in private practice, handling state and federal criminal appeals, including federal habeas matters and white-collar crime cases. I own and manage Elizabeth Franklin-Best, P.C., where we are devoted to providing outstanding legal representation. In addition to my practice, I serve as Chairperson of the Board of Directors for Justice 360 and as Vice-Chair of the Amicus Committee for the Fourth Circuit of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
