Jessica Lieck

Jessica Lieck graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Criminal Justice from Texas State University. Jessica earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech University School of Law with a concentration in Criminal Law and Innocence. During law school, she served as a two-time President of the Criminal Law Association, President of the National Lawyers Guild, an Advisor on the Diversity Advisory Board, a research assistant, and a State Bar Qualified Law Student in the Criminal Defense Clinic. She received “Top Grade” awards in Criminal Defense Clinic, Texas Juvenile Law, and Capital Punishment Seminar, and was honored with the Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete LLP Diversity Scholarship, the Criminal Law Association Scholarship, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Education Institute Charles Butts Scholarship, and the Brendan and Brian Murray Criminal Defense Endowed Scholarship. Jessica earned the Diversity Student Award for her commitment to advancing diversity and the Pro Bono Achievement Award for over 200 pro bono hours. Her research was published in Voice for the Defense. She is certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing and is a graduate of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association Tim Evans Texas Criminal Trial College. She serves on the TCDLA New Lawyers and Law Students committees and was elected to the Board of Directors for 2026–2027. She has presented at multiple CLEs about mitigation, client control, and how to gain second chair trial experience as a young attorney.
