Jennifer A. Riley

Jennifer A. Riley is Vice Chair of Duane Morris’ Class Action Defense Group and has more than two decades of experience defending companies in complex, high-stakes litigation. She regularly represents employers facing class actions, collective actions, pattern or practice lawsuits, and other representative proceedings involving anywhere from dozens to tens of thousands of claims. At the forefront of an evolving legal landscape, Ms. Riley develops and executes strategic approaches for navigating some of the most significant challenges facing corporate America today. Her experience spans a broad range of complex employment law issues, including discrimination, sexual harassment, wage and hour, and statutory privacy claims. Ms. Riley is known for crafting innovative litigation strategies early in the case lifecycle, often working to break apart large-scale actions or design creative resolutions that limit exposure and risk. She has represented clients in bet-the-company matters and other complex civil litigation across federal and state courts nationwide. Ms. Riley is a frequent speaker, author, and presenter on class action trends, emerging legal developments, and the evolving challenges companies may face in the future. Before joining Duane Morris LLP, Ms. Riley practiced commercial litigation at one of the nation’s largest law firms and later served as in-house counsel for a Fortune 100 pharmaceutical and medical device company. In that role, she investigated, managed, and resolved a broad range of commercial and employment disputes. Ms. Riley earned her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (2000) and her B.A., magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University.
