David Marquardt

David has practiced family law since 2004, working with individuals and families facing a wide variety of challenges. Over the course of his career, he has guided clients through divorce, property and financial disputes, custody and support matters, and situations involving protective orders. His approach balances compassion with determination, always aiming to protect his clients’ interests while seeking outcomes that allow them to move forward. Clients often turn to David because he understands that legal issues are not just about the law — they are about people’s lives. He takes the time to listen, provide clarity, and prepare strategies tailored to each client’s needs. When disputes can be resolved outside of the courtroom, he helps foster cooperation. When litigation is necessary, he enters Court fully prepared and ready to advocate. Raised in Montgomery County, Maryland, David earned his law degree from the University of Miami in Florida after completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Richmond in Virginia. Returning home after law school, he has built his career in the community where he grew up and where he now helps local families navigate important transitions. David’s dedication to the profession has earned him recognition from his peers, including the AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, selection to Super Lawyers, and inclusion in Best Lawyers in America. Away from his practice, he enjoys time with his children, staying active with soccer, sampling every new Oreo variety, and volunteering with charitable organizations in the area.
