About
I am Simon Budhwani, the principal at Core Family Law, with sixteen years of experience practicing family law and personal injury. In my family law practice, I handle matters such as divorce, domestic violence, custody, support, paternity, property division, and nuptial agreements. I have been fortunate to receive recognition in the legal community, including the 2016, 2017, and 2018 Super Lawyer Rising Star Awards, the 2024 Super Lawyer designation, and the 2014 Orange County Metro Magazine Top Lawyer Award. Additionally, I appeared on Nancy Grace in connection with the Real Housewives of Orange County custody battle. I welcome challenges in my work and take pride in successfully handling complex cases in family law. My approach is guided by two core principles: “he who knows his case file best usually wins” and the need to gain leverage over the opposing party. These principles are the backbone of how I approach each case. I make it a priority to know my client’s file and the facts better than anyone else involved, including opposing counsel and sometimes even my own client. This thorough preparation not only gives me an edge over other attorneys but also helps build rapport with the Judge overseeing the case. When questions arise in court, I am prepared to provide answers while opposing counsel might struggle to find their footing. Maintaining leverage is equally important in my practice. I believe that the outcome of any case hinges on which side holds and sustains leverage throughout the proceedings. It is my responsibility to shift the balance of power in favor of my clients. Achieving leverage requires dedication and effort—filing the necessary motions and demanding the other side to keep up. My goal is always to outmaneuver and out-think the opposition for the benefit of those I represent.
