About
Sheri D. Coover, Esquire, is a Pennsylvania attorney with longstanding ties to Cumberland County. A Shippensburg native, she graduated from Shippensburg Area High School in 1987 and later worked for Sprint and the Cumberland County Courthouse before entering law school. While raising four children as a single mother, she earned her Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies from Harrisburg Area Community College in 1999, a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy from Penn State in 2001, and a Juris Doctor from the Dickinson School of Law in 2004. During law school, Sheri focused on tax law, but her legal career quickly led her into family law. She has handled challenging custody and divorce cases—many involving the Cumberland County Children and Youth Agency—across Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lebanon, Perry, and York counties. In 2017, she was appointed as a Custody Conciliator for Cumberland County, where she helps parents work toward agreements that serve the best interests of their children and refers unresolved matters to the Court. Her background also includes criminal defense and advocacy in Protection from Abuse cases. She has represented parents in child welfare proceedings, including hearings to contest indicated findings of abuse, and has helped hundreds of clients appeal denied Social Security disability claims. Sheri continues to represent private clients in custody disputes and matters involving marital property. Outside of work, she enjoys attending professional sports events and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She resides in Central Pennsylvania with her pets.
