Martin Jones

Martin Jones is a highly respected criminal defense attorney known for his strategic precision, strong courtroom presence, and proven success in high-stakes cases. With over two decades of experience, he previously served as Assistant Chief Defense Attorney and Felony Supervisor at the Placer County Public Defender’s Office, where he handled some of the region's most serious criminal matters. Martin left public service to focus on providing more personalized attention to his clients. He believes clients are not case numbers, but individuals who deserve respect, compassion, and clear communication. His approach emphasizes accessibility and strong attorney-client relationships. Driven by a deep awareness of injustice, particularly within marginalized communities, Martin has developed a unique ability to understand people and build empathetic, effective defense strategies. He has also handled death penalty cases, successfully helping clients avoid capital punishment, and has experience with complex matters involving sexually violent predators and mentally disordered offenders. Martin holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, giving him strong insight into forensic evidence such as DNA and medical analysis. Early in his career, he served as a law clerk to William F. Rylaarsdam at the California Court of Appeals, Fourth District. He is also a graduate of the Trial Lawyers College, founded by Gerry Spence, and continues to pursue advanced training to deliver exceptional results for his clients.
