Geoffrey Scott Kunkler

Geoffrey Kunkler joined Carlile Patchen & Murphy LLP in 2014 and has been a Partner since 2018. His practice is centered around estate planning for individuals and business owners, as well as asset protection planning for retirees. He focuses primarily on the areas of estate planning, elder protection, estate administration, charitable and philanthropic planning and special needs planning. He also has extensive experience in conducting educational seminars on legal topics related to his expertise. Professional Accolades Education Geoff received his bachelor’s degree (B.A.) and master’s degree (M.A.) from Case Western Reserve University and his law degree (J.D.) from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. Geoff also earned his Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy™ designation from The American College in 2016. Professional Associations & Memberships Geoff is active in several organizations within his profession including the Columbus Bar Association (CBA), where he is the former Chair of the Estate Planning Committee and is a member of the Probate Law Committee. Geoff is a member of the planning committee for the Probate Law Institute hosted annually by the Columbus Bar Association. He is also a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Columbus Foundation Professional Advisors, the Delaware County Foundation Professional Advisors Group, the Catholic Foundation Professional Advisors Group, The Ohio State University Office of Gift Planning Professional Advisors Group, The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine Philanthropic Engagement Council and was previously a founding board member of the Central Ohio Chapter of the National Aging in Place Council. Geoff was born in Wooster, Ohio, where his family still resides. In his free time, Geoff enjoys eating out and vacationing with his wife, Lauren, and playing with his dogs, Teddy and Mowgli. Geoff and Lauren are new parents, welcoming a daughter, Nora, in 2019.
