Blake Cantrell

Blake Cantrell is a business and commercial transactions attorney with more than a decade of experience advising companies on corporate governance, business formation, and complex transactions. His practice is shaped by firsthand entrepreneurial experience, giving him a practical understanding of the legal and strategic challenges business owners face. Blake began his career as an entrepreneur, launching and rapidly scaling a food delivery company based in Norman, Oklahoma. He later successfully negotiated the acquisition and sale of the company to Grubhub. This experience provides him with unique insight into business growth, negotiations, and exit strategies. Following the sale, Blake served as General Counsel and Chief Executive Officer of a multi-unit retail business headquartered in Oklahoma City. In this role, he oversaw the company’s expansion to six locations across Oklahoma while managing a team of more than 70 employees. As General Counsel, he also led the process of establishing the company as an FTC-compliant franchisor, supporting the launch and operation of multiple franchise entities under the brand. Today, Blake leverages his combined legal and business leadership experience to help entrepreneurs, startups, and established companies navigate critical legal matters. He regularly assists clients with business formation, corporate governance, contracts, franchising, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic transactions, providing practical legal solutions that align with their long-term business goals. In addition to his legal practice, Blake serves as a Professor of Entrepreneurship & Law at the University of Oklahoma, where he mentors and educates the next generation of entrepreneurs.
