Jim Butler

I am dedicated to providing a strong defense for my clients, which led me to earn Board Certification in DUI Defense from the DUI Defense Lawyers Association. I am also proud to have been named an ACS-CHAL Forensic Lawyer Scientist by the American Chemical Society. This designation reflects my understanding of the science behind breath and blood alcohol testing, and I apply that knowledge to assist my clients in every case. I hold certifications from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in administering and interpreting the Standardized Field Sobriety Test Battery, and I am certified by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) as an instructor for these tests. These certifications allow me to assess whether sobriety tests were conducted properly by law enforcement, enabling me to build a strong defense for my clients. In 2013, I had the opportunity to study at The Trial Lawyers College in Dubois, Wyoming, under the guidance of renowned criminal defense attorney Gerry Spence. During this time, I learned how to uncover the core of my clients’ stories and present them in a compelling manner. I am a Founding Member of the DUI Defense Lawyers Association and a member of several esteemed organizations, including the National College for DUI Defense, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association. Additionally, I am honored to be a member of The College of The State Bar of Texas, a group committed to advancing legal education and ethics within the Texas legal community. Ultimately, my goal is to advocate for you with dedication, knowledge, and a commitment to your case.
