I am a small business attorney. I help people start, finance, buy and sell businesses and franchises. I have been practicing for over 25 years now. Franchising has always been an important part of my practice. My usual client is the person who is buying a franchise for the first time and I help them understand their FDD; set up an entity for them; and review and negotiate a lease if needed, and possibly close their SBA loan. I have also worked with franchisors who are just getting started in franchising and help them prepare and register their FDD, where appropriate. New business owners are my primary clients. I will walk them through all the speed bumps one encounters while getting a business up and running. I especially like working with veterans who are investigating business ownership or franchising for the first time. As a vet myself, I can appreciate how military service shapes the way vets see things and I help them to understand the different aspects of civilian life that comes with business ownership.
