About

Svetlana M. Eisenberg is a partner in the New York office of Brewer, Attorneys & Counselors. Clients turn to her for their most significant matters—cases where the stakes are high, the issues novel, and the risks substantial. A skilled trial lawyer, Ms. Eisenberg is known for arguing high-profile court cases and handling complex investigations that demand strategic thinking and tenacity. At Brewer, Ms. Eisenberg has represented clients in some of their most critical legal battles. She recently served as counsel for a not-for-profit corporation in high-profile multi-week jury and bench trials against the New York Attorney General (NYAG). Brewer’s courtroom advocacy led to the defeat of the NYAG's request for a court-appointed independent compliance monitor and the dismissal of both of the NYAG's corporate dissolution claims. Before joining Brewer, Ms. Eisenberg served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of New Jersey. She conducted high-stakes grand jury investigations and secured convictions for white-collar crimes, including investment fraud and aggravated identity theft. As an AUSA, Ms. Eisenberg participated in the prosecution of one of the largest computer hacking/securities fraud schemes. Ms. Eisenberg’s extensive experience includes: - High-stakes litigation: Argued complex commercial disputes, defeating regulatory actions, and navigating high-risk legal matters for corporate clients. - Government and internal investigations: Represented major corporations and an individual in internal and government investigations, as well as enforcement actions by the United States Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission (among other regulatory bodies). - Pro bono advocacy: Litigated—along with lawyers at the Legal Aid Society—Section 1983 cases, including a class action, on behalf of women prisoners, defending their constitutional right against abuse.
