Russel William Jones

I was born in Los Angeles County, California, and grew up in the South Bay Cities area. Since 1990, I have called Orange County my home. I was admitted to the California Bar in 1994 after earning my law degree from Western State University College of Law that same year. Before law school, I completed degrees in International Relations and Spanish at Brigham Young University. In the early years of my career, I focused exclusively on civil litigation, handling cases involving wrongful death, medical malpractice, personal injury, product defects, insurance bad faith, and premises liability. In 2012, I expanded my practice to include family law. I am a Certified Family Law Specialist through the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization, a distinction that reflects my commitment to this challenging area of law. My practice often involves complex family law issues, including high-conflict custody disputes and intricate financial matters. I approach these cases with strategic precision and determination, always striving to find the best path forward for my clients. I attended the National Family Law Trial Institute’s Kolodny Trial Skills Course in Houston, Texas, where I honed my family law trial techniques. Additionally, I am a trained mediator through the Family Resolution Institute and value collaborative resolutions when they are in my clients’ best interests. Whether negotiating favorable settlements or preparing for litigation, I am committed to achieving outcomes that align with my clients’ goals. I am an active member of the Orange County Bar Association’s Masters Division, Family Law Section, and Alternative Dispute Resolution Section. I am also a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. In addition to my legal career, I bring a wealth of personal life experience, compassion, and empathy to my work. I strive to provide support and guidance to my clients during some of the toughest times in their lives.
