Michael J. Boyle

I am Michael J. Boyle, Partner and Shareholder at the Barone Defense Firm, where I serve as Senior Trial Attorney. I joined the firm in 2005 after my experience working at large law firm and then running a successful solo criminal defense practice. Over the years, I have represented clients across more than 70 counties in Michigan. I am a proud graduate of the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan Trial College as well as the “Trial Lawyers College,” founded by Gerry Spence. I have trained personally with Mr. Spence and applied this training to secure favorable outcomes in drunk/drugged driving and criminal trials. My experience includes handling complex cases such as OWI Causing Death or Injury, CSC 1st Degree., and Self-Defense shooting cases. I hold certifications as a practitioner of the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests through the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Additionally, I am trained as a Drug Recognition Evaluator (DRE) and have completed Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE) training for DUI drug cases. My training extends to mastering the science behind chemical testing, including infrared spectroscopy for breath testing. I am one of a select few Michigan attorneys with hands-on training in Gas Chromatography (GC) for alcohol testing as well as GC/Mass Spec and LC Tandem Mass Spec for drug detection and analysis in blood samples. I have also received training in DNA, sexual assault sciences, and cell phone and computer analysis. My approach combines a personal commitment to my clients with extensive trial and courtroom experience, enabling me to represent individuals effectively throughout Michigan in State and Federal Courts. I have also shared my knowledge as a Key Speaker at seminars and conferences.
